Construction of a Namkha
Namkha is the Tibetan name of an extremely ancient object made with colored threads wrapped around wooden sticks, variations of which can be found in other traditions of the populations of our planet. In the Tibetan tradition it was introduced by ancient Bön – the pre-Buddhist religion of Tibet - and symbolically represents the components and fundamental aspects of the energy of the individual, according to precise calculations based on astrology. The Namkha, however, is not limited to a three-dimensional representation of the individual’s elements according to his or her horoscope, but possesses a function, not just cognitive but operative. It can become in fact a concrete instrument for harmonizing the energy of the individual, both internally and in relation with the larger energies of time and the universe. The course is based on the Teachings of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu that he gave in 1983, in which he clarified principles and function as well as the method for its construction a Namkha. This course will be led by Liane Graf, a senior student of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu.

Welcome to Yeselling

The Dzogchen Community of Austria is very pleased to present you YESELLING, the first Ling of the International Dzogchen Community in Austria.
Located in the eastern part of Styria between Vienna and Graz on a lovely smooth hill, surrounded by vineyards and offering a marvelous view in all directions, Yeselling has its residence in the first floor of the former school building.
This building (“The Schoolhouse”) is also the place of the office of the Shang Shung Institute Austria.

Yeselling has a 78m² large Gompa in which at least 70 people can sit and practice together. It is big enough for the small mandala, so we are able to practice the Dance of the Vajra at the Ling.
Thank to the brand new central heating system Yeselling has become very comfortable and warm. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare the things for the Ganapujas, and one can also cook warm meals. The very nice guest room offers space for even two people, in the luxury bathroom one can also take a shower.
In the library one can find real treasures like several rare books, which have been out of print since many years, or the complete set of Video Journals, or like all issues of THE MIRROR.

As being a Ling of the international Dzogchen Community, Yeselling is a place open to all students of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu and members of the Dzogchen Community. In Yeselling one get receive the worldwide transmission of Rinpoche, follow the web-cast retreats on a big screen, attend retreats and practice collectively.

You are all very welcome to come to Yeselling and to spend a wonderful time here.
